Introduction
Nord Pool’s Product and Strategy department is responsible for developing and maintaining Nord Pool’s strategic assets and business lines in order to answer clients’ needs in a versatile environment. Nord Pool is looking for a Business Development Manager to support us in exploring new business opportunities, and delivering our diversification strategy.
The role is a full-time position and will preferably be located in one of our offices in Espoo or Oslo. Travels within Europe should be expected, both to our other offices and to meet and engage with stakeholders.
Description
We are searching for a professional and customer-oriented individual with 5+ years of experience in business development activities in the energy sector. As a Business Development Manager you will participate in the development of new business areas at Nord Pool, to expand and diversify our activities beyond the core business. You will be involved in the creation, development and launching of new initiatives and strategic business projects through organic growth, partnerships or acquisitions. You report to Nord Pool’s Head of Business Development.

Core Missions:

  • Responsible for at least one strategic growth initiative, including opportunity identification, prioritization, design and implementation.
  • Undertake complex analysis and screening to identify opportunities and customer needs by using desktop research, meetings with clients and partners and attendance in selected conferences.
  • Support decision-making processes with quality analysis and documentation. Participate in strategy process updates, M&A processes and meetings with potential partners.
  • Support other internal teams with business intelligence and participate in roll-out processes of new strategic initiatives.

Core skills

  • You have 5+ years of experience in electricity markets and business development, with MSc-level education in Energy, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets; expertise in any of the potential diversification areas (e.g., Guarantees of Origins, Flexibility, Ancillary Services) is a plus.
  • Established knowledge in business casing, with the ability to conduct revenue/cash-flow analysis
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to effectively conduct research and proficiently communicate insights using PowerPoint and Excel, with excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Project management skills, with experience leveraging internal/external relationships and pro-actively driving projects forward.
  • International business experience is an advantage, particularly in developing complex products across multiple regions.
