Job Summary This role will be responsible for prospecting and closing profitable new business on behalf of the consumer title insurance line of business. The Business Development Manager is accountable to deliver new volume, revenue and profit to First Title (FT) in accordance with established annual targets, representing FT as an expert in the title insurance industry. Additionally, this role is accountable to partner effectively with other internal and external partners to develop the consumer title insurance product and, expand business growth by building a market awareness that establishes the value title insurance provides in streamlining transactions and providing protection to property owners. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Business Development and Relationship Management Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the customer base Grow business and exceed sales targets from clients or potential clients within the Consumer line of business while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction Assist in uncovering and capitalising on opportunities. Provide feedback to First Title stakeholders regarding the market to help contribute to the organisational goals Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and targets Establish relationships with customers and provide a high standard of customer service continually Generate and pursue leads whilst converting and closing these opportunities, to meet and exceed sales goals Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to prospective clients Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships Understand client needs and tailor insurance solutions to meet their specific requirements Provide exceptional customer service and follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction Attend local and interstate stakeholder events as required Account Management Maintain and nurture relationships with existing clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns and requests Manage a portfolio of customers and include regular updates in the CRM Develop, retain and encourage long term customer relationships Customer Relationship Ensure the customer's experience meets the First Title mandate Anticipate customer needs and provide feedback to First Title stakeholders Participate on sales opportunities within the identified client base in partnership with others as required in high risk or highly competitive situations Build rapport with clients to differentiate First Title from the competition based on the quality of the business relationship and enhance the probability of winning mandates Display effective salesmanship in knowing when to deviate from planned presentation agenda to more effectively address client needs Leverage First Title to support sales and client retention objectives and the delivery of needs-based client solutions Collaborate with and build strong networks with internal and external partners. Demonstrate persistency and motivation in closing new business with sales cycles that generally require a 6-12 month period, with a focus on more complex accounts Ensure deep knowledge of internal partner groups and key personnel to effectively draw on appropriate resources for access to clients’ top executives in support of retaining and/or increasing client business Decision Making Make sound decisions, use best judgment and ensures best practices are adopted Prepare and incorporate financial analyses, tables, charts and graphs into presentations and proposals that effectively educate clients on First Title products, industry and competition, as well as depict solutions to client needs Use facts, research and collaborate with First Title stakeholders to develop and retain long term client relationships Research prospective clients in advance of the client meeting and shapes the sales presentation based on an understanding of the potential client needs and the fit of First Title products Impact Meet or exceeds set sales targets in an effort to increase revenue and grow market share Provide input to the market sales strategy based on a deep understanding of the market, client needs and business growth opportunities Develop, implement, review and revise a 6-12 month rolling plan focused on identifying prospective clients within designated market segment that will result in meeting or exceeding sales targets Maintain networks across the assigned market segment to drive new business opportunities Display good judgment in identifying those prospects that offer strong potential to meet acceptable revenue thresholds and eliminate from consideration those prospects deemed non-creditworthy or otherwise unlikely to generate sufficient returns to First Title Teamwork and Collaboration Work with the National Sales Director to develop targeted lists, call strategies to create opportunities for new business Collaborate with the sales team to maximise conversion rates and revenue Provide weekly Sales Activity to the National Sales Manager via CRM or other Role model a culture of high performance Actively participate in team meetings, contributing insights and suggestions to improve processes and outcomes Foster a collaborative and supportive environment by sharing expertise and best practices with team members Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency and achieve departmental objectives Work Health and Safety: To have an understanding of the company’s Safety and Wellbeing policy Take reasonable care to protect your health and safety and the health and safety of others Report all safety hazards, incidents, near misses and injuries Maintain a clear and orderly work area Essential Requirements: Tertiary education in Law or Conveyancing Minimum 5 years property law experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels Strong attention to detail Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks Excellent problem solving skills Exceptional customer service skills Knowledge of the sales cycle and key account management Expert negotiation and insight sales skills Desirable Criteria: Previous experience working in the Title Insurance industry What We Offer By choice, we don’t simply accept individuality – we embrace it, we support it, and we thrive on it!
