Location: Brisbane, Australia – Hybrid with flexibility
Reporting to: Leadership
Are you a confident business developer who thrives on outbound execution and building global customer relationships? Responsibilities

As Business Development Manager, you’ll be InspireX’s front-line market representative. This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role:

  • Around 80% of your time will be spent behind the laptop executing outreach, building and refining sequences, presenting & engaging with customers and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
  • The other 20% will put you on the global stage, representing InspireX at 4–5 major international events each year, networking with decision-makers, and confidently pitching our story.

You’ll focus on generating and qualifying opportunities, then working closely with our experienced pre-sales team who will own solution design and closure. This balance ensures you can focus on what you do best, creating new business and building strong first impressions.

What You’ll Do

  • Opportunity Generation & Outreach: Plan and execute targeted outbound strategies using tools like HubSpot, Apollo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Build highly personalised sequences that resonate with Product, Engineering, and Executive-level stakeholders.
  • Brand Representation: Master InspireX’s unique selling propositions and confidently represent us as the go-to partner for AV-focused software services. Treat every email, LinkedIn message, and conversation as an opportunity to deliver value.
  • Critical Thinking & Persistence: Navigate the realities of outbound sales — no replies, gatekeepers, rejection — with resilience and creativity. Think laterally to identify alternate paths to decision-makers and ensure our value is seen.
  • Pitching & Qualification: Deliver clear, engaging pitches in remote meetings and at in-person events. Qualify opportunities rigorously before handing them to pre-sales, ensuring smooth transitions and actionable insights.
  • International Event Presence: Represent InspireX at 4–5 major tradeshows annually across US and EMEA, engaging in confident walk-up pitching and strategic networking. Use events to fuel follow-up campaigns and warm the outbound funnel.
  • Collaboration: Partner with pre-sales, engineering leadership, and marketing, sharing market insights and supporting campaigns, while owning your own pipeline results.

What you Bring

  • Proven outbound sales success: A clear record of generating new business through cold outreach, targeted campaigns, and disciplined follow-up. You know how to open doors and keep momentum moving.
  • International B2B experience: Strong exposure to global markets, ideally across US and EMEA. You’re confident working cross-culturally and flexibly across time zones to build relationships.
  • AV industry knowledge and software services understanding: Familiarity with AV ecosystems, manufacturers, or technology providers is a strong advantage. If you don’t have this already, you have the proven ability to rapidly build credible knowledge in technical domains, and you know how to ask the right questions and represent a USP with confidence.
  • Highest-level communication skills: Every touchpoint, whether email, LinkedIn message, meeting, or tradeshow pitch, is treated as an opportunity to add value and elevate InspireX’s reputation.
  • Critical thinking and resilience: Understand that sales involves rejection and silence, and you thrive on finding creative, lateral ways to reach decision-makers and articulate value.
  • Commercial acumen: Able to connect technical capabilities to business outcomes and demonstrate ROI to prospective customers.
  • Tools and process discipline: Hands-on experience with HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and CRM best practices. You maintain accurate records, respect data hygiene, and operate with transparency.
  • Mindset and maturity: Self-managing, persistent, adaptable, and accountable. You’re a collaborator who knows when to lead and when to bring in specialist expertise, and you thrive in a global, small-team environment.
