We are growing and looking for a motivated Business Development Manager to join our team and help us build strong relationships, expand our client base, and drive new business opportunities.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in connecting Island Heights Construction with new and existing clients. You’ll identify opportunities, nurture leads, and work closely with Site Superintendents, Pre-Construction Managers, and leadership to ensure client needs are understood and met. This position combines sales expertise with relationship management, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, professional construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and qualify leads within construction, development, and related industries.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent customer experience.
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals, quotes, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with the project team to align client expectations with project capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline, and client interactions.
  • Represent Island Heights Construction at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets with a focus on sustainable long-term growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Established networks within the construction or related industries are required.
  • Knowledge of construction practices, terminology, and industry standards is an asset.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with internal teams.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, Project Management systems (Construction-related is a plus), Google Workspace, and digital communication tools.
  • Experience with commercial bidding platforms such as BC Bid, BidCentral, or similar procurement systems
  • Valid BC driver’s license and ability to travel locally for client meetings.
