POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth by building and maintaining relationships with general contractors, architects, engineers, developers, and owners in the AEC industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the commercial construction market and a proven ability to identify, pursue, and secure new opportunities in mechanical contracting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of business development experience in the commercial construction industry, preferably with a mechanical contractor.
  • Strong network in the Kansas City Metro commercial construction market.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing) and construction processes.
  • Familiarity with AEC industry practices and project delivery methods.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and organized.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in commercial HVAC and Plumbing sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, developers, architects, and engineers throughout the Kansas City Metro.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, association meetings, and client presentations.
  • Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to prepare competitive bids and proposals.
  • Track project opportunities from pre-construction through award phase.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitor activity, and client needs.
  • Develop strategic marketing and outreach plans to position the company for growth.
  • Maintain and update CRM systems with accurate client and project information.
