Are you a proven Business Development Manager with experience in capital equipment sales? Do you enjoy building relationships with contractors, end-users, and facilities teams while driving growth in a competitive market?
An industry-leading manufacturer of loading bay equipment, industrial doors and shutters, and scissor lift solutions is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Southern region. The role focuses on building strong relationships with logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing clients, offering tailored solutions in loading systems, industrial door automation, and lift platforms. This is a strategic sales role with significant growth potential for the right candidate.

The Role

  • Develop new business opportunities across the South of England, targeting distribution centres, logistics firms, manufacturers, and contractors.
  • Manage and grow key accounts, ensuring long-term partnerships.
  • Work closely with consultants and project contractors to specify high-value loading bay and lifting solutions.
  • Deliver technical sales presentations, quotations, and tenders.
  • Report to the UK Sales Director and play a key role in regional growth.

The Person

  • Proven track record in capital equipment, industrial doors, loading bay, lifting, or material handling sales.
  • Strong technical understanding with the ability to discuss engineered solutions.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and able to manage your own diary effectively.
  • Excellent relationship builder, with experience working with end-users, contractors, and consultants.
  • Experience in service, maintenance, or projects within loading bay, industrial doors, or lifting equipment will also be considered.
  • Based in the South of England with flexibility to travel.

Package

  • Basic salary £35,000 – £55,000 DOE
  • OTE £70,000+ uncapped
  • Company car / allowance, laptop, mobile, pension
  • Strong career progression within a market-leading organisation

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in Area Sales Management, Field Sales, or Business Development within capital equipment. It would also suit Field Engineers, Service Engineers, or Project Engineers from the loading bay, industrial doors, or materials handling sector who are looking to transition into a sales-focused career path.
