JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for driving growth within the B2B segment across Central Europe for the MDS Business Unit. This includes strategic oversight and development of key industry sectors such as Med Tech, Kit Packers, Animal Health, and some local Pharmaceutical partners. The role requires close collaboration within BD’s matrix organization, working cross-functionally with the B2B Leadership Team, European Country BDMs, and internal departments including Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs.
Reporting directly to the B2B EMEA Sales Manager, with a dotted line to the Central Europe MDS Commercial Business Leader (CBL), the position also entails direct leadership of a team of three full-time employees. The role is highly customer-facing, involving 60% travel, including overnight stays.
We are flexible! This position can be either full time or part time based on need and individual agreement.
Location Field-based: Germany

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Fluent in English and German; additional languages desirable.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout Central Europe (60%).
  • Proven track record of success in sales management roles within the medical devices industry, ideally with experience in Central European markets.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements related to medical devices, quality systems, and clinical trials.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior leaders.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment, preferably in a global organization.
  • Knowledge of commercial best practices and industry benchmarks.
