JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with brokers and developing strategic plans to enhance our market presence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales and the specialist finance or mortgage market.
As a Business Development Manager, you will act as a trusted partner and ambassador for Crystal, promoting our full range of specialist finance solutions—including bridging, commercial, development, complex BTL, and second charge mortgages.
Success will come through consultative engagement, providing brokers and introducers with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to identify opportunities, structure deals effectively, and increase overall conversion.
The BDM will embody Crystal’s values, champion our proposition, and create measurable impact through education, collaboration, and consistently driving high-quality business volumes.
SKILLS REQUIRED
· Proven success in either a field-based BDM or Telephone intermediary sales role
· Strong understanding of specialist lending products (bridging, commercial, BTL etc.)
· Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
· Self-starter with ability to manage own diary and work under pressure
· Competent with CRM systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office
· Drive growth in enquiries, applications, and completions from a defined panel of brokers and introducers.
· Identify, prospect, and onboard new broker firms to expand Crystal’s distribution footprint.
· Develop, strengthen, and maintain long-term relationships with key brokers and introducers through regular contact, account reviews, and case support.
· Actively promote Crystal’s full suite of solutions—including our lender panel, packaging, and referral services—ensuring brokers clearly understand the product range and service benefits.
· Identify and convert cross-sell opportunities to maximise broker value.
· Consistently meet or exceed monthly activity, conversion, and revenue targets.
· Update all broker engagement and activity promptly in CRM to maintain accurate records.
· Participate actively in weekly sales meetings, performance reviews, and forecasting sessions.
· Represent Crystal as an ambassador at regional and national industry events, roadshows, and networking functions.
· Deliver broker education via account reviews, training sessions, and support for marketing initiatives including webinars, product launches, and campaigns.
· Provide competitor insights and market intelligence to help shape internal strategy.
· Work closely with internal teams including underwriters, case managers, and marketing to deliver a seamless broker experience.
· Share broker feedback and identify areas of improvement to strengthen collaboration and service delivery.
