Monadelphous is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead our pursuit of new business across the suite of EC offerings. This functional leadership role will be pivotal in overseeing the continued growth of the BU across our portfolio of customers while driving business development and managing key internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting to the General Manager Strategy & Growth we are looking for someone with demonstrable experience working with a diverse client base across the resources and energy sectors as they bring business to our WA / SA / NT regions. You will utilise your ability to actively engage clients and critically identify key opportunities in both mature and emerging markets. This role will see you responsible for the tracking/reporting of prospects and as the key driver in converting opportunities into secured project wins.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the EC SLT to identify opportunities to grow our west coast construction business in line with our Business and Strategic Plans.
• Maintaining and enhancing relationships across the business to leverage integrated opportunities.
• Maintaining the strong existing relationships, we have with our customers whilst nurturing new relationships through identifying/developing new opportunities.
• systems and tools to support a strategic approach to BD and relationship management.
• Tracking/reporting on the pipeline of prospects across the west coast of Australia in a methodical and structured manner.
• Leading the process from opportunity identification though to tender, working with our pre-contracts team to develop win strategies and convert.
• Leading the completion of pre tender activities such as EOI’s, ROI’s, pre-qualifications, understanding customer drivers and positioning us to be the contractor of choice.
• Developing and implementing strategies and initiatives to take advantage of the opportunity pipeline in sectors outside of our current portfolio of work.
• Representing the company across industry relevant events and ad-hoc networking opportunities.
• Developing innovative proposals that take in account an ever-changing regulatory environment and changing global conditions whilst supporting the management team with business insights and analysis.
• Overseeing and being directly involved in negotiations with major clients and JV partners.

What you’ll bring:

• A passion for Business Development and be able to demonstrate the positive impact you can bring to the role combined with a commercial aptitude of different commercial and contractual models for our customers.
• Well-developed communication skills combined with excellent working relationships capable of influencing external and internal stakeholders.
• Whilst tertiary qualifications in a related business or engineering field would be viewed favourably, cultural fit is also key, hence you will relish the opportunity to lead the work winning function in the western region.
• A strong working knowledge of multidisciplinary construction projects in the following sectors: Energy, Resources, Power Generation, Hydrocarbons.
• A track record demonstrating negotiation expertise combined with a history of winning work by implementing innovative solutions.
• Experience in contributing to strategy, business unit planning and sponsorship of strategic initiatives.
• Ability to manage the functional team to support the Division & drive a continuous improvement culture.
