As Business Development Manager – Mortgages, you’ll play a critical role in identifying, launching, and leading high-impact partnerships. Working closely with our Growth and Partnerships team, you’ll help bring innovative operating models to life—driving joint success with new and existing strategic alliances. You will: Drive new partnership opportunities from discovery through to launch, working closely with mortgage brokers, aggregators, and TAL senior leaders. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, pricing, legal, technology, and marketing teams to develop and deliver innovative distribution models. Lead end-to-end business development processes, including opportunity assessment, commercial negotiations, and contractual execution. Manage strategic partner relationships post-launch, ensuring joint objectives are met through clear governance, aligned operating models, and effective performance tracking. Champion TAL’s presence in market, actively engaging with industry stakeholders and promoting our growth agenda at key events and forums. Qualifications Strong understanding of the Australian financial services industry, with specific insight into the mortgage sector and broker distribution networks. Solid grasp of regulatory and legislative frameworks governing the distribution of retail financial services. Proven ability to apply critical thinking to develop and assess new business models within complex regulatory environments. Experience in direct life insurance product development and the associated go-to-market processes. Familiarity with project management principles and agile delivery methodologies to support successful technology and product launches.
