Purpose of Role: The Offshore Renewable Energy sector is in a critical period, with a need to accelerate the path to NetZero while maintaining energy security. With the publication of the Severn Estuary Commission, there is renewed focus on Tidal Range, and with several Tidal Stream CfD wins in recent years, the sector is looking to scale. This role is all about driving sector development focusing on the tidal range and tidal stream sectors, while consolidating existing agreements and giving the right support to other new emerging technologies within the portfolio. Your purpose is to support strategic growth initiatives aligned with the sub-sector strategy. Through your customer engagement, technical expertise, and strategic planning, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our new energies offerings. Your responsibilities include business development, customer engagement, stakeholder management, contract management and technical management of consultant expertise. You will contribute insights to shape the leasing design parameters and lead on contract negotiation and management willing to get in to the legal detail, driving revenue generation and sector growth. You will be a facilitator and convener, capable of seeing the wider picture and politics to grow the sectors. You will be comfortable representing the portfolio externally, working with emerging Government policy and industry professional bodies.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Support strategic activities that drive growth within the tidal range, tidalstream and other new technology sectors
• Develop and execute plans for market engagement and new opportunityidentification
• Provide technical expertise to influence the development of leasing designparameters
• Lead contract design and negotiations, working with legal advice toundertake successful negotiations
• Manage completed contracts, monitoring compliance and riskmanagement for seabed leases (assets), ensuring adherence to safety andregulatory standards, escalating upwards where necessary
• Identify potential opportunities to optimize lease performance and driveefficiencies
• Proactively engage with customers, nurturing relationships and drivingengagement
• Identify and capitalize on commercial opportunities within the sector,fostering business development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve shared growthobjectives
• Uphold sustainability principles in business development initiatives
• Drive the implementation of value optimization and commercial strategies
• Stay ahead of industry trends and contribute to horizon scanning efforts
• Take a lead on safety first sector initiatives

MOST IMPORTANT SKILLS BASED REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience in business development and strategic growth initiatives in relevant sectors
• Experience in or good knowledge of contract management, commercial agreements (ideally related to leases)
• Strong customer engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
• Technical expertise in tidal sectors, with awareness of trends and growth opportunities in other new technologies
• Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and management, fostering collaboration, sensitive to politics and different agendas
• Strong negotiation and contract management abilities
• Analytical skills to assess market trends, data, and insights
• Commitment to sustainability principles and their integration into business operations
• Knowledge of commercial due diligence, risk management, and compliance practices
