This position is ideal for someone based in the D.C., Maryland, or Virginia area with A/E/C industry experience who enjoys connecting with clients and building relationships in person when needed. You’ll be a key member of our Business Development team, helping drive growth across OCMI’s core markets through opportunity identification, client engagement, and pursuit strategy support all while collaborating with leadership and technical teams to strengthen OCMI’s presence and uphold our reputation for excellence in construction management. Responsibilities: Proactively identify and pursue new project opportunities across federal, education, civic, healthcare, and infrastructure sectors. Build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, and engineers to secure new work and teaming opportunities. Lead and support sales and capture plans in collaboration with regional and corporate leadership. Research and track pursuits, clients, and market trends; maintain data in the firm’s CRM system. Support proposal efforts and ensure compliance with client requirements and firm standards. Participate in interview preparation and business development events, representing OCMI with professionalism and integrity. Collaborate internally to align business development efforts with project delivery and client expectations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent A/E/C experience). 5+ years of business development, marketing, or client-facing experience in the A/E/C industry. Strong understanding of A/E/C processes and federal contracting environment. Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple pursuits. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign; experience with Deltek VantagePoint or Smartsheet is a plus. Benefits include: Hybrid or remote flexibility depending on position.
