  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of mortgage sales experience, preferably in private lending
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Active mortgage agent license required
  • A self-motivator who is energetic and outgoing with a desire to be a top earner in a performance-based compensation model
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work remotely and with minimum supervision, but still accessible and responsive

THE ROLE

Oppono Lending Company is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our award-winning team! You will be responsible for driving growth in mortgage originations by developing strategic broker relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and promoting Oppono’s lending products. This role requires a proactive, results-driven individual with strong industry knowledge and relationship-building skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct sales presentations and proposals to new and existing mortgage brokers and agents
  • Educate brokers on company policies, procedures, and product offerings
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and tradeshows
  • Identify emerging business opportunities and develop actionable plans to achieve sales objectives.
  • Develop, strengthen, and maintain broker relationships through regular visits, calls, and presentations
  • Respond to broker inquiries and resolve issues promptly
  • Accountable for achieving and reporting sales activity targets for the region
  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve broker issues and improve service delivery
  • Provide feedback to leadership on promotional program effectiveness and broker needs
  • Drive efficiency in sales processes and maintain sound risk assessment practices
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance
