Mission / Role purpose: Build a consistent pipeline of qualified new business opportunities by identifying target accounts, initiating contact, qualifying interest, and booking meetings for senior leaders. The role starts with hands-on pipeline creation and progresses into opportunity development as market knowledge and confidence grow. It suits someone with a high-agency mindset who can take clear direction and turn it into action. The overall mission: Create momentum in new business by turning a defined universe of target accounts into qualified commercial conversations. Take ownership of turning strategic direction into practical action, while continuously improving how Toucanberry identifies, engages, and qualifies opportunities. We want the candidate to have recent hands-on experience: Proactive outbound prospecting in a B2B environment Researching target accounts and senior stakeholders Qualifying inbound and outbound leads Booking and preparing high-quality meetings for senior colleagues Using a CRM to track activity, pipeline, and follow-ups Required behaviours/characteristics: Takes initiative and works independently with light guidance Strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes Comfortable starting hands-on and earning progression over time Curious and willing to experiment with new approaches and tools Commercially pragmatic and focused on what drives meetings and pipeline Comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping build structure as the role evolves Required skills/experience (the must-haves): Proven experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles Strong outbound capability (email, LinkedIn, follow-up, persistence) Ability to research complex organisations, complex buying environments, and long decision cycles Confident communicator with senior stakeholders Comfortable working to activity and pipeline targets Disciplined use of CRM and sales processes Bonus (the nice-to-haves): Experience in insurance, reinsurance, financial services, or consulting Exposure to long sales cycles and relationship-led selling Experience supporting marketing activity (content distribution, campaign support, event follow-up) Uses modern tools, automation, and AI to improve productivity and effectiveness Fully Remote Outside IR35 Long term contract £300/Day + Commission and additional monthly meeting target bonus.
