We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Business Development Manager (Private Brands) to join our Private Brands team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Director, Private Brands, you will be responsible for managing a business portfolio that includes delivering customer focused Private Brand product and program solutions that increase sales share and penetration of the Private Brand products. You will be responsible to maximize profitability along with individual development, implementation, and management of the business portfolio – Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Promotion, Product Development and Package Design will be key.

You will be responsible for:

  • Achieving budgeted goals for area of accountability.
  • Managing a portfolio of Private Brand programs and products that support the Build Value pillar of the Save-On-Foods strategy plan.
  • Aligning with Merchandising Category Managers to develop Private Brand category business plans, encompassing analysis of current share and penetration, optimal mix, shelf placement, promotional plans, pricing, and merchandising recommendations.
  • Performing, coordinating, and leading the analysis and measurement of penetration; marketing plans; promotions; pricing; in-store displays; merchandising strategies; and inventory forecasting.
  • Interpreting trends and other sales analysis data to guide supplier activity and drive the development of innovative products in your assigned categories.
  • Executing new strategic initiatives for the assigned categories.
  • Performing activities in a consultative manner, advocating using a fact-based approach for Private Brand programs.
  • Collaborating and building relationships with Private Brand suppliers to enhance relationship and alignment.
  • Working collaboratively within your assigned supplier relationships to manage product costs.

You have:

  • A degree in business or related experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in category management, and/or product development.
  • Proficiency in data reporting resources I.E. AC Nielsen, Business Intelligence Systems and Microsoft Office (Excel).
  • An understanding of the Private Brand competitive landscape and best practices.
  • Experience with project management.
  • A strong business acumen.
