Peak Surveying Ltd. is seeking an experienced & motivated Business Development Manager to join our team in Burnaby, BC. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the land surveying and construction industries, with a proven track record of identifying new business opportunities and building lasting client relationships. The primary focus of this role is to drive growth by securing new contracts and expanding our market presence.

JOB DESCRIPTION: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $47.50, for a 40-hour work week.
Overtime: As per BC labour laws

REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • 2- 3 years proven experience in business development or sales, preferably within the land surveying or construction industries.
  • Strong understanding of land surveying principles and construction layout.
  • Proficiency with Carlson SurvCE Field Software and Leica total stations.
  • Experience with MicroSurvey Embedded CAD is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction industries.
  • Ability to read and understand complex plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

A significant part of this role is to Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients. Building trust and long-term connections with strategic partners to develop leads for a consistent flow of referrals and new business.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential clients and projects in the land surveying and construction sectors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the company’s client base and market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, acting as a primary point of contact.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and contracts to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with the management and technical teams to ensure proposed solutions align with the company’s capabilities and resources.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
