Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Business Development Manager to join a fully remote (Seattle preferred; CO, DC, LA okay) DOD Program. The Business Development Manager will drive growth in the US space sector by leading government capture and sales efforts focusing on DOD & Intel sectors. This Business Development Manager will bring government contracting and business development experience to secure federal deals, and provide capture management services, B2B2G strategy execution, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager include:

  • Capture & Proposal Management: lead the full lifecycle of government contract capture, including identifying opportunities, developing strategies, and managing proposal submissions
  • Strategic Relationship Building: establish & maintain relationships with key government stakeholders (DOD, Intel, Civil) & commercial primes to drive business growth
  • B2B2G Strategy Execution: develop & implement go-to-market strategies in collaboration with commercial partners to access government opportunities
  • Market Intelligence & Product Feedback: provide insights to product teams based on government user needs, preferences, & pain points to inform development
  • Compliance & Risk Management: ensure all proposals meet regulatory requirements & manage risks associate with government contracts
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: monitor & report on pipeline progress, with rates, & KPIs, while owning a $5 annual quota

Qualifications of the Business Development Manager include:

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or capture management, specifically focused on securing government contracts
  • Proven track record of winning complex federal contracts & managing full proposal lifecycles, including RFP responses & compliance ($2-3M+ government contracts)
  • Strong knowledge of Government Procurement processes, regulations, & platforms - especially within DOD & Intel sectors
  • Excellent communication & strategic thinking skills, with the ability to build relationships across government & commercial stakeholders
  • Open to travel (>50%)
  • Active TS/SCI (or TS with SCI eligibility)
  • Preferred: certifications like PMP or APMP

Compensation for the Business Development Manager includes:

  • Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000 + bonus depending on experience
