PLCs Plus International is seeking a Business Development Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for driving growth in competitive and underrepresented controls and automation markets. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives on identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities while building long-term client relationships across the Western United States. Specific areas of interest include Idaho, California, Oregon, Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, and Texas.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The Business Development Manager position is responsible for building profitable and sustainable revenue streams by establishing relationships with clients that have a need for Automation and/or Controls Services. This position is also responsible for informing the direction and development of emerging business opportunities within our designated service areas. These emerging business opportunities should strengthen our business lines and overall market position, while promoting our leadership position in the industrial automation field to our clients and within the industry.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience in the industrial, electrical, or automation industries
  • 3 years’ experience in Sales and/or Business Development is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present complex technical solutions clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time outside of the home-based location
  • Valid Driver’s License and U.S. citizenship

Responsibilities
  • Achieve year-over-year revenue growth targets as set by PLCs Plus Leadership
  • Develop strategic business plans for new markets (by industry or geography), identifying revenue potential, CAPEX needs, and entry strategies
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients’ key decision makers in the C-Suit,e along with mid-level management, to position PLCs Plus as a long-term partner
  • Proactively identify and pursue new opportunities across all PLCs Plus service areas
  • Identify and target projects requiring automation and consulting services for companies using PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, or related platforms
  • Support business strategy for developing new business opportunities
  • Attend and represent PLCs Plus at trade shows and industry events for the specific purpose of lead generation
  • Ensure marketing and business development comply with the Vision Statement, Mission Statement, and Core Values.
  • Collaborate with PLCs Plus internal operations to incorporate the voice of the customer, align on bid responses, and coordinate scheduling needs of clients
  • Leverage CRM tools, social media, and online platforms to discover new clients and projects
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, quoting activity, and pipeline updates utilizing Microsoft Excel or CRM software
