Full job description

My client is seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in sales, particularly within the construction sector. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving sales and marketing efforts, identifying new business opportunities, and maintaining excellent client relationships.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct market analysis to understand trends, opportunities, and identify potential clients.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospects through effective lead qualification.
  • Develop strong client relationships through a consultative approach, understanding their needs and providing tailored advice on our services.
  • Seek out appropriate contacts within organisations to develop new opportunities, as well as upsell and cross-sell.
  • Generate and attend face-to-face client meetings to build rapport and maintain working relationships.
  • Stay updated with market trends and identify key areas for growth.
  • Utilise advertising strategies to promote the company.
  • Collaborate closely with the Managing Director to manage and enhance the Sales & Marketing strategies of the business.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets.
  • Manage and maintain our CRM software to ensure efficient tracking and reporting of sales activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' sales experience, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Well-developed skills in listening, relationship building, presenting, and written communications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong research skills with a knack for identifying business opportunities.
  • Experience in managing sales staff is advantageous.
  • Proficient in using CRM software.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence.
