JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager with a solid background in the investment/wealth management sector. A successful candidate should have a strong network with high-net-worth individuals or institutions (life insurance brokers, financial advisors, EMD’s, etc.) and an active social presence in the Chinese Canadian society. This role requires a passionate individual who excels in networking and is focused on expanding the company’s distribution network.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Self-motivated and energetic.
· Established personal relationship with key industry contacts is preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related business field.
· At least five years of experience in the financial services industry.
· Progress towards CIM, MBA, or CFA designations is a plus.
· Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated executive presence and presentation abilities.
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
· Comprehensive knowledge of finance and investment concepts.
· Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is required
· Proactively develop and manage distribution channel relationships with life insurance brokers, financial advisors, EMD’s and other producing WM channels.
· Carry out daily sales activities including but not limited to cold calling, targeted emails, and attending industry conferences.
· Gain a deep understanding of the company’s investment products and philosophy to effectively communicate and promote these to potential clients.
· Build a high level of expertise in capital markets, investment management trends, and marketplace developments.
· Lead or participate in additional projects or duties as assigned by the management team to support the company’s goals and objectives.
