Known for technical accuracy, responsiveness, and reliability, Safe Site helps project teams identify, expose, and mitigate underground utility risk early, reducing conflicts, change orders, and construction delays. Safe Site Utility Services is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support continued growth across Arizona, Nevada, and the Dallas/Fort Worth market. This full-time role is based in Phoenix, AZ, with regular travel throughout the assigned territory. This position is focused on expanding Safe Site’s presence with general contractors, engineering firms, developers, utility owners, and public agencies across large commercial, infrastructure, transportation, and industrial projects. This role is ideal for a professional with direct experience in SUE, utility locating, and/or hydrovac services, who understands how subsurface risk, utility exposure, and construction sequencing directly impact project cost, schedule, and safety. The Business Development Manager will serve as a market-facing leader, responsible for relationship development, opportunity identification, and positioning Safe Site as a single-source subsurface solutions partner across the region. Location: Phoenix, AZ Territory: Arizona, Nevada & Dallas/Fort Worth Responsibilities Identify and pursue new business opportunities related to SUE, utility locating, and hydrovac services across AZ, NV, and DFW Build and maintain strong relationships with GCs, engineers, developers, utilities, and municipal stakeholders Promote Safe Site services through client meetings, presentations, site visits, and lunch-and-learns Support proposal development, scope alignment, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations Coordinate closely with operations and technical teams to align client expectations with execution Drive long-term market growth, repeat business, and strategic account development Track regional project pipelines, market activity, and competitive positioning Requirements Proven experience in business development, project management, or operations within: Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Utility locating Hydrovac/hydro-excavation Surveying, geospatial, or underground construction services Strong working knowledge of ASCE 38, utility quality levels, and subsurface risk management Existing relationships in Arizona, Nevada, and/or the DFW construction or utility markets preferred Ability to communicate technical and operational concepts to diverse stakeholders Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a multi-market role Excellent verbal and written communication skills Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred Compensation & Benefits Safe Site offers a competitive base salary with performance-based incentives, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package and long-term growth opportunities within a nationally expanding organization.
