Mumford & Wood are specialists in premium, bespoke timber windows and doors, operating exclusively within the B2B sector. Renowned for craftsmanship, service, and innovation, we predominantly collaborate with contractors, developers, architects, and self-builders on high-end new-build and refurbishment projects across the UK. As we continue to grow in the bespoke and technical sectors, we are seeking a motivated and ambitious Business Development Manager to join our team.

LEAD QUALIFICATION:

  • Conduct thorough qualification of warm leads to assess their fit for our products or services.
  • Use predefined criteria to determine lead quality and likelihood of conversion into sales orders.
  • Document all interactions and qualifications accurately in the CRM system.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Active Listening: Listening attentively to leads, understanding their needs, and effectively addressing their concerns.
  • Clear Communication: Capacity to articulate product/service features and benefits clearly and compellingly.
  • Persuasion: The skill of persuading leads to take the desired action, such as scheduling a demo or making a purchase.
  • Negotiation: Ability to negotiate terms and conditions to close the sale while maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship.

ANALYTICAL SKILLS:

  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyse sales data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in the lead follow-up and conversion process.
  • Decision Making: Skill in making informed decisions based on data and insights to optimize sales performance and maximize conversion rates.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.
  • Proven experience in sales, lead qualification, or customer service roles.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with prospects.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and lead management tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Organised, adaptable, and capable of prioritising effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident with IT, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full UK driving licence (minimum 1 year).
  • Willingness to travel with some overnight stays.
    A commission structure is in place that is linked to the successful hand over of new clients and continuous subsequent orders won as a result of your introduction. Additionally, a company bonus scheme is operated across the business, you will be eligible to join upon successful completion of your probationary period.
    Training: Full onboarding and product training provided, with access to Mumford & Wood showrooms and wider team support
Responsibilities

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The primary responsibility of this role is to follow up on warm leads generated by marketing efforts, qualify them, and pass on qualified warm leads to regional sales managers for further follow-up and conversion into sales orders.
