Description Position: Business Development Manager | Themed Entertainment Location: Baltimore, MD Image Engineering was founded as a company that pushes boundaries, develops new ideas through design and fabrication, and is a leader in the visual display and special effects industry. We are comprised of a team of artists, engineers, event producers, fabricators, and creative thinkers. We have worked all over the United States, completing thousands of projects in the field of creative multimedia shows for clients such as Rihanna, Jay-Z, Tiësto, Lady Gaga, American Idol, America’s Got Talent, and multiple professional sports franchises in the NFL, NBA, and NHL. We have also created permanent and temporary interactive installations for world-class venues, including the Staples Center, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Smithsonian Institution, and Walt Disney World. Our strength lies in our ability to serve the entertainment industry across the segments of sports, large-scale one-off productions, touring, and permanent installations, providing solutions to the most challenging problems. The Manager of Business Development, Themed Entertainment is a key member of Image Engineering’s future growth and will assist the Director, Engineering Operation and Director, Engineering with new business development and maintaining close relationships with existing clients. The ideal candidate will help target and hone Image Engineering’s growth in the Themed Entertainment market by understanding industry trends and positioning Image/ TASC to react appropriately. The purpose of this role is to generate new business, maintain existing relationships and facilitate the education of the marketplace on what makes Image Engineering unique. Primary Responsibilities: Create and build positive relationships across themed entertainment—owners, operators, developers, architects, creative studios, integrators, and fabricators. Identify prospect needs and position Image Engineering solutions that address business, creative, and technical objectives. Rebuild relationships with dormant client contacts Maintain and update CRM; drive disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, and follow-ups. Collaborate with Creative Services to develop pitch decks, proposals, and collateral tailored to client project needs. Partner with Marketing on conference strategies (e.g., IAAPA), industry events, trade publications, and themed-entertainment campaigns. Lead discovery sessions and site visits; document requirements, constraints, assumptions, and decision logs. Coordinate internal reviews with Design, Engineering, and Operations to define scope, budget, schedule, resources, and risk. Present proposals and negotiate commercial terms (SOWs, MSAs, NDAs), ensuring alignment with client expectations and company standards. Represent Image Engineering at industry functions, mixers, and conventions; act as a brand ambassador and thought partner. Provide regular updates to leadership; proactively surface risks and mitigation plans; capture lessons learned to refine go-to-market. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communications, or other related field. 5–8 years of experience in themed entertainment, attractions, experiential environments, or closely related fields (agency, integrator, or production). Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication. High emotional intelligence; confident engaging at all levels from entry to executive; strong room-reading and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Keynote, and CRM tools. Excited to collaborate with both creative and technical team members; comfortable translating between business objectives and engineering/design considerations. Preferred Experience Existing network within themed entertainment (theme parks, destination resorts, museums, aquariums, brand experiences). Familiarity with attraction design workflows (concept, schematic, design development, fabrication, installation, commissioning). Understanding of show control, AV/lighting, projection, lasers, special effects, show action and permanent installation infrastructure considerations. Experience with RFP/RFQ responses, pricing strategy, and contracting (SOWs, MSAs, NDAs). Participation in IAAPA and related industry associations; comfortable presenting and hosting on the trade show floor. Experience with social content and case studies; partnering with marketing to build thought leadership and demand. Travel Expectations Travel for client meetings, site tours, and conferences is required; typical travel 20% with flexibility for nights/weekends based on project schedules.
