Business Development Officer II Department: Business Development Division Direct Report: Vice President, Sales Manager FLSA Status: EXEMPT Salary Level: Grade 13 - 14  * Maintains current and proficient knowledge of all bank products and assists other bank officers to promote bank products and services. * On occasions may join Business Relationship Managers on customer calls to establish business connection to help expand business services.     Manage the Experience  Exempt  20%  * Proactively role model our bank brand personalities and build meaningful connections with employees, customers and vendors. * Identifies customer needs, problems, or complaints, and arranges for meetings between customers or prospective customer and representatives of various company functional areas to meet or exceed customer expectations. * Represents the company in various civic and community functions to further enhance its image and develop additional business. * Represent/participate in Bank sponsored events and community outreach programs.     Manage the Business/Task  Exempt  35%   * Develops and executes direct mail campaigns and cold call programs as appropriate to identify qualified prospects. * Provides financial planning services and actively seeks referrals for bank affiliates (Trust Services, BG Wealth Management and Bank Guam Insurance) as part of the sales process. * Conducts seminars/training and presentations as part of the sales effort. * Prepare reports on sales activities, customer relationships and to evaluate potential markets and market conditions. * Develops and assists in the implementation and coordination of the company-wide business development call program. * Compiles and analyzes statistics pertinent to the company’s business development program and makes recommendations or suggestions as appropriate. * Documents calls and results, and makes reports to management as required. * Complete all other tasks and duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department or business.     Manage the Risk  Exempt  25%   * Keep informed of new marketing techniques and the products and services offered by competitors. * Collect, evaluate, and analyze data on customers, prospective customers, and competitors to estimate potential market penetration rate. * Must prepare financial analysis and highlight key indicators integral part of the job. * Complete all bank mandated training.       FLSA Categorization   Exempt  100%    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  * Must be detailed oriented and highly organized with ability to demonstrate. * Strong interpersonal and written/oral skills to communicate effectively across sales and marketing. * Excellent time management skill and strong negotiation skill required. * Proficiency of bank software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). * Energetic, dynamic and persistent approach to marketing and sales. * Independent self-starter with a goal-driven attitude. * Poised at handling difficult and complex customer situations. * Superior ability to sell and promote bank products. * Honesty, dependability with strong determination to contribute to the team effort. * Multi-tasking to meet multiple deadlines. * Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations. * Must be an extrovert who enjoys the company of others and also able to work independently and in teams. * Must be able to work under stress and pressure to meet or exceed demands of customers (both retail and corporate).   Education and Experience:  * Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business, marketing, or equivalent professional work experience. * Must have 5 to 7 years of business banking experience; and 3 years of financial sales and business development experience. * Must have previous experience in drafting Request for Proposal (RFP) responses. * Mastery of the BDO I function and role   Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:     The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
