Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Business Development Officer (BDO) to support our growth by identifying and qualifying new business opportunities. Your focus will be on generating leads through cold outreach (email and calls), networking, and building relationships that lead to new charity partners and participants in our Introducer Scheme.
The BDO will be responsible for finding and nurturing potential opportunities. Once a lead is qualified and interested, you will pass it to the Business Development Manager who will handle closing the deal.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Conduct outbound prospecting via cold emails, cold calls, and LinkedIn/networking to generate new leads.
· Identify and qualify opportunities with charity partners, businesses, and organisations who would benefit from our energy services.
· Promote and grow Utility Aid’s Introducer Scheme by engaging individuals or organisations with strong networks in the charity or business sector.
· Effectively communicate Utility Aid’s value proposition, particularly the benefits of switching energy providers and the rewards of being an introducer (30% of signed deals).
· Track, manage, and report outreach efforts and pipeline activity using CRM tools.
· Work closely with the Business Development Manager to transition qualified leads for closing.
· Stay informed on industry trends, energy market updates, and Utility Aid offerings to effectively position the service.
