You will drive deposit and loan growth by identifying new business opportunities, deepening existing relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor. Overview: The Business Development Relationship Officer (BDRO) is responsible for sourcing, developing, and managing relationships with small to midsized business clients. This role focuses on driving deposit and loan growth by identifying new business opportunities, deepening existing relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor. The BDRO builds and manages a portfolio of business clients, ensures high levels of satisfaction and retention, and collaborates with internal teams to deliver seamless client experiences, all while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and staying informed of industry trends. What You Will Do: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities with small to midsized businesses, including deposits, loans, and treasury management services. Build and manage a portfolio of business clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, retention, and portfolio quality. Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects through networking, referrals, and active participation in community organizations and events. Conduct needs assessments and recommends appropriate banking solutions tailored to each client’s business objectives. Negotiate terms, structure deals, and coordinate with internal partners to ensure smooth onboarding and delivery of services. Monitor portfolio performance, including credit quality and risk assessment, and take action to address concerns. Actively cross-sell the credit union’s full suite of products and services to meet client’s needs. Collaborate closely with credit, operations, product, and other internal teams to deliver seamless client experiences. Stay informed of industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes impacting business clients. Prepare and submit regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and results. Ensure strict compliance with all applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures. Requirements What We Are Looking For: 3–5 years of experience in business banking, commercial lending, or a similar client-facing sales role Strong knowledge of commercial banking products and services Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills Ability to analyze financial statements and assess creditworthiness Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications High school graduate or equivalent Ability to work well under pressure Ability to use a personal computer and related software applications including Microsoft Word or Excel Knowledge of credit union core deposit and lending products Premier America Credit Union will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring (Ban the Box) Ordinance. We set standard pay ranges for all roles based on function and level of expertise, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.
