Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Representative (BDR) to drive growth in our software business. This role is ideal for a sales professional with 5–8 years of experience selling software into industrial markets. You will be responsible for lead generation, prospect engagement, solution walkthroughs, and closing sales. Technical support, including demos, will be provided by our internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Key Responsibilities Lead Generation & Prospecting Identify and engage potential customers through outbound efforts, industry events, and digital channels. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads. Work with the existing channel partner network to identify and nurture leads Sales Execution Conduct discovery calls to ascertain customer needs and operational challenges. Present tailored software solutions that address specific use cases in operational analytics. Collaborate with SMEs to deliver impactful demos and technical presentations. Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract negotiation and close. Relationship Management Develop and nurture long-term relationships with decision-makers and influencers. Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress in CRM systems. Market Intelligence Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies. Provide feedback to product and marketing teams to refine messaging and offerings. Qualifications Experience: 5–8 years in B2B software sales, preferably within process industries. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with operational workflows in sectors such as oil & gas, chemicals, utilities, life sciences or general manufacturing. Sales Skills: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex solutions clearly at all levels of the organization, up to and including executive communication Collaboration: Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical teams and SMEs. Tools: Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales enablement tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience selling SaaS or enterprise software solutions is a plus. Technical aptitude or background in engineering or industrial systems. Existing network within process industries.
