ABOUT YOU

As an experienced business development professional, you are passionate about driving strategic outcomes in a collaborative and results-driven environment. You bring a wealth of knowledge across key sectors and ideally have demonstrated experience within a strategic marketing position within the legal or professional services industry.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

• Demonstrated success in developing relationships and securing legal service engagements.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, client relationship management, or strategic marketing within a professional services or government context.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
• High-level writing and presentation skills for proposals, tenders, and strategic documents.
• Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Business Development analytics tools.
• Experience working in or with law firms or legal departments is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Public Policy, Marketing, or a related field preferable.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To support the ongoing growth at Lavan, we are seeking a Business Development Sector Specialist. This is a new and strategic role that will deepen engagement with key market sectors including Western Australian local and state government, mining and resources, and building and real estate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the development and implementation of a targeted business development strategy for key market sectors
• Client and stakeholder engagement
• Monitor initiatives, procurement activity, and legislative developments to identify legal service opportunities within the key sectors.
• Identify key stakeholders, including executives, legal procurement officers and advisors.
• Identifying and qualifying new opportunities for legal services across practice key practice areas
• Collaborate closely with our practice teams to identify and target new opportunities
