JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in driving growth and expanding our market presence through effective sales strategies and relationship management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in B2B sales, account management, and lead generation, with a keen ability to identify new business opportunities and foster long-term client relationships.

ABOUT US

We are a growing HVAC and petroleum (fuel delivery) company serving residential and light-commercial customers year-round. We install and service boilers, furnaces, AC/heat pumps, water heaters—and deliver heating oil and diesel —with fast, dependable support. Our Customer Service team keeps operations moving and customers cared for—especially when the weather hits.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Related Field.
Two or more years of experience in sales, with a track record of exceeding lead targets.
Familiarity with social media marketing.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with potential clients.
Knowledge of sales techniques and strategies.
Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of creative marketing trends, digital media platforms, and emerging technologies is a plus.
Ability to organize/Prioritize your time and projects
Strong project management skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Create and order visual assets for print and digital use (e.g., brochures, sell sheets, data sheets, social media posts, landing pages, branded swag)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in business development or outside sales, preferably in a technology or B2B environment.
  • Strong understanding of account management principles and territory sales strategies.
  • Familiarity with CRM software for managing leads and tracking sales performance.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate value propositions to clients.
  • Demonstrated ability in lead generation techniques, including cold calling and networking.
  • Experience in technical sales or product demonstrations is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market conditions and make data-driven decisions.
  • A customer-centric approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities
  • Answer inbound calls/texts/emails/chat; open tickets for service, installs, and fuel deliveries.
  • Dispatch & scheduling: coordinate technicians and fuel drivers; optimize routes and provide accurate
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company goals.
  • Conduct outside sales activities, including cold calling and direct sales efforts to generate leads and close deals.
  • Billing & payments: take payments/deposits, set up service plans, resolve basic billing questions.
  • Manage existing accounts while identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional products or services.
  • Utilize CRM software, such as Salesforce, to track sales activities, manage customer relationships, and analyze sales data.
  • Assist and organize company’s marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create effective promotional materials and product demos that resonate with potential clients.
  • Schedule appointments/orders and provide accurate ETAs/status updates
  • Engage in territory management to maximize coverage and ensure effective outreach within assigned regions.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer needs that can inform business strategies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Participate in negotiations with clients to secure favorable terms while maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Cross-team coordination: work with sales/field on parts availability, warranty status, callbacks, and customer updates.
