THE ROLE & THE TEAM

Zalando Stores Experiences & Clearance Solutions is a retail-focused business unit, responsible for managing overstock from across the entire Zalando Group. We operate 15 (and counting) physical outlet stores across Germany, the Zalando Beauty Station in Berlin, and various other overstock channels. While retail is at the core of our operations, we increasingly collaborate on initiatives across the wider Zalando Group – expanding our scope and creating new data needs in the process. In recent years, we have strengthened and streamlined our BI landscape, putting in place cleaner data models, stronger governance, and more unified reporting.
As a BI Analyst (all genders) in Zalando Stores, you will build on this foundation – designing and maintaining robust data models, ensuring high-quality KPIs and dashboards, and making our BI tools more impactful and accessible. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, translate them into effective BI solutions, and act as a sparring partner to improve the quality and usability of our data products.
The focus now is on building new data products, refining what already exists, and ensuring our BI solutions keep pace with the evolving needs of a fast-changing retail market and our growing cross-Zalando activities.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Discover and translate business processes into data models for our data warehouse and Tableau, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and aligned with current and future business needs.
  • Write and optimize SQL to create data marts, improve data flows, and support efficient BI performance.
  • Work with Zalando’s central data teams to ensure data quality, consistent structures, and well-designed ETL processes that support our data needs.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to design and improve data products that enhance the value and usability of reporting and analysis.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting to support operational and strategic decisions.
