ABOUT US
The Business Intelligence team are a highly collaborative and supportive function, providing excellent opportunities to develop your skills across various analytical disciplines and customer service areas. The team is part of the Business Intelligence and Community Support (BI & CS) Service within the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) Directorate. You will be primarily assigned to support the Adults & Health (A&H) Directorate. However, you will also have opportunities to be involved in cross-cutting projects with other Directorates.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected and high-performing team within the Council, where you have the chance to help shape Buckinghamshire for years to come.
OUR VALUES AND CULTURE
We have a set of values, which our employees have chosen, that represent what we are – Proud, Ambitious, Collaborative and Trustworthy.
By joining Buckinghamshire Council, you can expect:
a fair and inclusive culture
At Buckinghamshire Council, we know that our biggest strength comes from the people that work for us, and that’s why we’re working hard to ensure we continue to be an accessible and inclusive organisation.
From dedicated staff networks overseen by our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group, to proudly standing as a Disability Confident employer, it’s important to us that all our colleagues feel engaged, listened to, and valued. Our offer of flexible working empowers a productive and happy workforce and allows employees to combine work with other responsibilities and commitments.
We believe our workforce should reflect the diverse communities we service in Buckinghamshire, and are looking for like-minded individuals to join us in promoting equality, fairness, and inclusion for everyone.
You will support the development of high quality, specialist, business intelligence and insight from internal, external, and partner sources. You will support evidence-based decision making and forward planning, which will drive continuous and sustained improvements in service delivery, value for money, and customer satisfaction.
You will research, process, and evaluate information and data to support business requirements. Trends, issues, and options will need to be identified and prioritised, and used as a basis for conclusions and recommendations which will support decision making.
You will work closely with stakeholders to clarify changing business requirements and identify improvement opportunities. You will develop good working relationships and communicate effectively with internal customers and collaborators, external bodies, organisations, partners, and stakeholders.
This role supports the Public Health function, and you will work to develop the range of analytical support that we offer to Public Health colleagues and collaborate with analysts across the Council. You will be delivering high quality data analysis and helping to develop reports, dashboards, and other online data resources and infographics. You will also play a key role in the development of statutory statistical collections such as the Director of Public Health Annual Report and the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment, and lead on analytical projects to identify health needs of the population.
As part of your role, you will contribute to the development of others. This could be through sharing technical and procedural knowledge, skills, and experience, acting as a coach or mentor, or providing feedback.
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
