BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST

Location: Fully Remote- Must be within 60 miles of Washington DC

Education: B.A./B.S. or M.A./M.S. in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field

JOB SUMMARY:

Seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to work with the development team to create and optimize interactive dashboards primarily in QlikSense and Tableau. The role involves working with large datasets, understanding data structures, and ensuring data-driven decision-making. Ideal candidates should have a solid understanding of Data Science methodologies. Develop, enhance, and sustain data models supporting the integration of varied data sources for use in analytics and BI tools. Occasionally provide explanations of data concepts and data source dependencies to non-technical stakeholders.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• BI Tools: Proficiency in QlikSense and/or Tableau.
• SQL: Strong ability to write efficient queries and data manipulation scripts.
• Data Science Concepts: Familiarity with data structuring, storage, and retrieval.
• Data Analytics: Experience in processing and visualizing large datasets.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Databricks Experience: Hands-on experience creating scripts, jobs, and optimizing workflows.
• Python/R: Experience using scripting languages for data analysis.
• AI/ML Knowledge: Understanding how ML models are used for BI.
• Familiarity with DoD personnel or manpower systems, processes, and procedures

• Develop and optimize dashboards using QlikSense (preferred) and Tableau.
• Analyze large, diverse datasets to provide meaningful insights.
• Create SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and visualization.
• Ensure data integrity by implementing best practices in data wrangling.
• Work with development teams to understand Databricks and data storage conventions.
• Support self-service users by developing and automating reporting workflows.
