The Information Technology Division (ITD) of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement supplies a full range of IT services to government ministries and agencies. It supports government customers with help desk, hardware and software, application development and IT security services. The IT Division also sets government-wide policies and standards in IT infrastructure, IT support services and security.

The Citizen Centric Program Delivery (CCPD) Branch of the IT Division is looking for an exceptional Business Intelligence Analyst (Microsoft Power BI Administrator) for the Data Analytic Services team, who can:

  • Administer and manage the day-to-day support operations of the Enterprise Power BI service. This includes monitoring the Premium / Fabric capacity usage, creating Power BI workspace environments (by business area); designing report distribution approaches (publishing to an app, or to SharePoint online); administering user-licensing approach; optimizing the end-to-end reporting solution for performance.
  • Serve as a go-to contact for all Power BI administration tasks in a multi-tenant environment.
  • Monitor and maintain Power BI service configuration, security and availability.
  • Enhance and performance-tune Power BI reports / dashboards and data models.
  • Offer technical expertise to Power BI report developers and data modelers from various client teams as and when required.
  • Create and maintain documentation for the Enterprise Power BI service which includes service description, process standards, operational support and service roadmap.
  • Present information to wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences including executive government.
  • Be approachable and flexible in dealing with clients, ITD staff and vendor teams.

TYPICALLY, THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION WOULD BE OBTAINED THROUGH:

  • An undergraduate degree in computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) or Implementing Analytics Solutions Using Microsoft Fabric (DP-600).
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with Power BI administering and report / dashboard development, data visualization, and other BI reporting tools.
  • Previous hands-on experience working with enterprise class databases, OLAP cubes, data warehouses and data lake environments.
