About You You are a Business Intelligence Analyst with experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics, who enjoys turning complex data into trusted, business‑ready insights. You take pride in building high‑quality, scalable Power BI semantic models and thrive in governed BI environments where performance, usability and reliability matter. You bring a strong technical foundation and enjoy working collaboratively with both technical teams and business stakeholders. You’re proactive, detail‑oriented and motivated by continuous improvement, with a genuine interest in enabling self‑service analytics and future‑ready reporting. You’ll bring: Strong experience designing, building and maintaining Power BI semantic models using best‑practice modelling techniques Advanced skills in DAX, tabular modelling and performance optimisation Proven experience working with relational data sources and T‑SQL including query writing and SSRS reporting A solid understanding of data governance, including Row‑Level Security (RLS) and Object‑Level Security (OLS) Experience refactoring and optimising existing models to simplify complexity and improve performance Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or Purview is advantageous Microsoft certifications (Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate) are highly regarded You’ll succeed because you: Collaborate effectively with data engineering teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into clear, actionable insights Communicate confidently, with strong documentation skills that support self‑service BI adoption Monitor and improve model performance, usage and service health Enjoy sharing knowledge, contributing to BI standards, and supporting or mentoring other analysts Are curious about emerging analytics capabilities, including AI‑ and Copilot‑enabled insights About The Role As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you’ll play a key role in delivering trusted, high‑quality analytics that support informed decision‑making across the organisation. Your focus will be on designing, optimising and evolving Power BI semantic models that are scalable, well‑governed and performance‑driven, with a strong emphasis on future‑ready, AI‑enabled analytics. You’ll work closely with data engineering teams and business stakeholders to ensure models align with enterprise architecture, governance standards and business needs. A key part of the role will be improving existing models by reducing complexity, eliminating redundancy and enhancing usability, while maintaining secure and reliable datasets. In this role, you will: Design, build and optimise Power BI semantic models to support enterprise reporting and analytics Refactor and enhance existing models to improve performance, scalability and maintainability Collaborate with data engineering teams to align BI models with enterprise data architecture Implement and uphold modelling, DAX and governance standards across the Power BI environment Manage certified datasets, including Row‑Level Security (RLS) and Object‑Level Security (OLS) Enhance reporting solutions to deliver clear, actionable insights for stakeholders You’ll also be responsible for: Monitoring Power BI performance, usage and service health Supporting AI‑ and Copilot‑ready semantic models and advanced analytics capabilities Contributing to continuous improvement of BI tools, standards and practices Providing guidance and mentorship to other analysts within the BI team Based at our Journey Beyond Head Office on North Terrace in Adelaide, this role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, forward‑thinking environment where high‑quality data, strong governance and meaningful business impact are highly valued.
