Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee, Illinois, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Developer Team Leader to join our growing team. The BI Developer Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of BI developers, designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions that support strategic decision-making and enhance operational efficiency across the organization. This role involves collaborating with various departments to understand their data needs, creating intuitive reports from a number of information systems, ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of critical business information, and serving as a consultant to committees.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Programming experience (prefer Python, C#, R)
  • Understanding of relational databases fundamentals
  • SQL proficiency
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years of experience with data or financial analysis, healthcare setting preferred
  • Web Development Framework knowledge a plus
  • Power BI/Tableau/SSRS/SSAS/SSIS experience preferred

REQUIRED LICENSURE/EDUCATION

  • Epic Clarity Data Model certifications expected within 6 months of hire

PREFERRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Information Technology, or quantitative field (or equivalent experience) preferred

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead team huddle meetings to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Staff Onboarding: Onboard new staff members and integrate them into the team.
  • Education: Provide education and training to end users on BI tools and solutions.
  • In-Person Meetings: Attend meetings in person on occasion to represent the BI team.
  • Employee Rounding: Regularly round on BID employees to ensure their needs are met and to foster a supportive work environment.
  • Data Analysis and Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and business requirements. Translate these requirements into technical specifications for BI solutions.
  • Report Development: Manage report request queue for assigned reporting domains and design and develop timely and high-quality reports. Ensure these deliverables meet user requirements and provide actionable insights.
  • Tool/Environment Utilization: Maintain expertise with the following BI tools and development environments: SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio or Report Builder, SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Excel, Manage Engine, Git, and Gitlab.
  • Data Integration and Management: Integrate data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external systems. Work with vendors to develop custom data extracts and manage automated data exchange.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of BI solutions and the report library and make necessary adjustments to optimize speed and efficiency. Address any issues related to data integrity or system performance.
  • Quality Assurance: Actively participate in team code review process and quality assurance projects to ensure good data quality.
  • Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, including user guides and technical specifications.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with IT and business teams to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and ensure alignment of BI solutions with organizational goals.
  • Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure. As a salaried professional, you may be expected to work above your FTE on occasion.
  • Special Projects: Assist with special projects related to data analytics and business intelligence as needed.
