POSITION SUMMARY

A business intelligence (BI) manager oversees a team that transforms raw data into actionable insights to guide strategic decision-making within an organization. Their responsibilities include leading the development of data-driven strategies, designing and maintaining data models and dashboards, managing BI tools and technology, and ensuring data quality. They collaborate with stakeholders, interpret complex data sets, present findings, and foster a culture of data literacy to improve business performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Strategic Development:

  • Contribute to the ongoing implementation of the organization’s business intelligence strategy

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Oversee the transformation of raw data into meaningful information through data modeling, data mining, and visualization, creating dashboards and reports for stakeholders.

Data Quality & Governance:

  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across the organization and resolve any data quality issues.

Technology & Tool Management:

  • Contribute to the evaluation, selection and strategic use of existing and future BI tools and technologies

Team Leadership:

  • Manage, mentor and provide guidance to the BI team

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with different departments and stakeholders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting requirements.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Present data findings, interpretations, and strategic recommendations to management and other stakeholders.

Innovation & Best Practices:

  • Stay informed about emerging trends in BI technology and analytics, incorporating new techniques to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
