ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re seeking an experienced Business Leader to lead our Environmental Services business in Queensland. Our group of passionate experts tackle complex challenges across ecology, environmental approvals, impact and risk assessments, and environmental management.
As a Business Leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in influencing operations within one of Australia’s most leading and innovative nationally structured Environment businesses, comprised of nearly 300 people. Reporting to the Regional Director, you’ll lead with purpose—driving safety, people, client service, growth, and operational excellence.
This is a rare opportunity to grow and shape a local team, backed by a collaborative and unified national network. You’ll help expand our client base, strengthen existing relationships, and lead strategic pursuits in a region full of potential. With a diverse portfolio of projects and clients throughout QLD, this is your chance to make a lasting impact.

DAY TO DAY TASKS WOULD INVOLVE:

  • Develop and implement business strategy and revenue growth plans for the Queensland business to achieve organisational goals and agreed outcomes.
  • Lead project delivery and team performance, ensuring excellence in resourcing, utilisation, and margin management.
  • Inspire and guide your team with clear direction and purpose.
  • Responsible for winning work and achieving net revenue and backlog targets, with support from leaders and staff.
  • Foster collaboration across Business Centres with a focus on cross-selling nationally to consistently win new work with clients.
  • Champion a high-performance culture focused on talent, productivity, and financial performance.
  • Drive quality and timely delivery of projects that exceed client expectations.
  • Build and nurture client relationships, lead major projects, and drive strategic pursuits.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture in partnership with our HSSE leadership.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE YOU’LL NEED:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Environmental Science / Engineering, or a related technical degree.
  • 15 years of senior-level experience in environmental services.
  • Proven leadership skills and a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and significant project delivery experience.
  • Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional client relationship and stakeholder management skills, underpinned by deep knowledge of QLD’s environmental services market.
