GENERAL OVERVIEW

Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley is managed by a three-person leadership team comprised of the following roles: Business Manager, Development & Communications Manager, and Program Manager. The Business Manager oversees contract management, budgeting and fiscal operations, team member benefits and human resources, organizational policies and compliance, and general data management.
Key responsibilities include developing and monitoring budgets, managing grants and contracts, maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and ensuring accurate data tracking and reporting. The Business Manager also leads HR functions, including benefits administration, onboarding, and supporting staff with policy guidance. This role is essential in fostering operational efficiency, supporting team well-being, and helping the organization fulfill its mission of strengthening families in our community.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • 3-5+ years in financial management, operations, or administration within a nonprofit or business setting.
  • Financial Management & Budgeting – Understanding of accounting principles, managing budgets, and overseeing financial reports.
  • Grant & Fund Management – Knowledge of funding sources, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Leadership & Team Management – Supervising staff, volunteers, or departments.
  • Strategic Planning & Decision-Making – Helping guide the nonprofit toward its goals efficiently.
  • Operational Efficiency – Managing day-to-day operations, contracts, and vendor relationships.
  • HR & Compliance Knowledge – Understanding employment laws, benefits, and nonprofit-specific legal regulations.
  • Technology & Software Proficiency – Familiarity with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement – Strong interpersonal skills for working with boards, donors, and the community.
