POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Business Manager with a proven track record in procurement, inventory management, and operational leadership within a distribution or manufacturing environment in our Cleveland, Ohio, location. This role is responsible for driving profitability through strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, inventory optimization, and cross-departmental process improvements. The Business Manager will be a key member of our leadership team, ensuring that operational decisions support company growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Economics concentration preferred).
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in procurement, inventory/data management, and operational leadership, preferably in the electrical distribution or related industry.
  • Demonstrated success in vendor negotiations, cost reduction, and margin improvement.
  • Expertise in ERP systems and third-party integrations; experience with Infor and Phocas is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, forecast trends, and make strategic decisions.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and manage high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams, vendors, and customers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage procurement and supply chain operations, overseeing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends, commodity movements, and industry shifts to ensure competitive pricing and optimal stock levels.
  • Oversee ERP data accuracy, system integrations, and process efficiency improvements.
  • Partner with logistics and operations teams to optimize trucking, warehousing, and inventory movement across multiple locations.
  • Drive profitability by conducting margin analysis, cost reviews, and operational audits.
  • Manage and mentor staff within purchasing, pricing, and related operational functions to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to improve workflow, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Develop forecasting strategies and inventory planning models to support sales and customer demand.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the company’s strategic objectives.
