Job Summary The Business Office Generalist supports the operations of the business office by collaborating with multiple departments and assisting with accounts, payment processing, and general administrative functions. This role ensures accurate and timely handling of business office tasks while providing backup support as needed. Essential Functions % TIME Review and resolve problem accounts while monitoring Work queue volumes to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks. 35% Process incoming check correspondence, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), zero-pay documents, and checks for Remote Deposit Capture in an accurate and efficient manner. 20% Provide backup support to the Accounts Receivable Department as needed. 20% Respond to EOB requests and other inquiries from internal departments in a timely and professional manner. 15% Perform general administrative duties such as scanning, document management, and mail distribution to support daily business office operations. 10% Required for All Jobs • Performs other duties as assigned • Complies with all organizational polices, standards, and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient and confidential information. • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations and certifications, if applicable. Education Qualifications * High School Diploma and/or GED - required * Associate's Degree in business, accounting, healthcare administration, or a related field - preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of medical billing practices, policies, and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong computer and 10-key skills with attention to accuracy and efficiency. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment Commitment to maintaining open and professional communication across departments.
