BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGER JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have knowledge of Medical Eligibility and Billing, especially familiarity with Medicaid in a long-term care environment.
  • 1 year in a skilled nursing facility with Business Office Experience.

BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGER JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Administrator, the Business Office Manager manages all business functions and personnel including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, resident trust funds and other assigned duties. The Business Office Manager ensures the financial systems are accurate, efficient, and in accordance with professional accounting practices and government regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with residents and families to complete Admission paperwork.
  • Ensure that resident admission contracts are signed and appropriately filed.
  • Financial payment verifications (Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance).
  • Medicaid billing and follow up.
  • Patient billing, deposits, and follow up for Private R&B and Personal Liability.
  • Prepare and mail statements.
  • Handle Medicaid Redeterminations and other Medicaid paperwork requests.
  • Monitor and collect accounts receivables.
  • Assist in balancing accounts receivables.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements to include preparing monthly balance sheet, income and expense reports, etc., as required.
  • Report delinquent accounts to the Administrator, Accounts Receivables Assistant.
  • Assist in reconciling bank statements as directed.
  • Assist in preparing trial balances as directed.
  • Follow established resident fund accounting procedures.
  • Provide each resident with a quarterly accounting of his/her funds managed by the facility.
  • Perform secretarial functions as necessary or directed.
  • Attend and participate in facility mandatory in-service training program as scheduled (e.g., OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, etc.)
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information.
  • Ensure that resident’s rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
  • Communicate with Case Managers and agencies regarding incoming referrals.
  • Track all referrals on monthly referral log and IRM.
  • Follow the quarterly marketing plan for the Facility.
