  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of healthcare billing, coding principles, and regulatory compliance for skilled nursing.

  • Processing and meticulously reconciling monthly accounts receivable for assigned areas, ensuring accuracy and timely collections.

  • Identifying and resolving revenue discrepancies and proactively following up on submitted claims to minimize patient accounts receivable.
  • Collaborating with clinical staff to verify the accuracy of coding on claims before submission.
  • Working effectively with external agencies, including payors, collection agencies, and legal counsel, to resolve complex collection matters.
  • Conducting account audits, processing necessary adjustments, and preparing bad debt write-off requests.
  • Facilitating clear communication between the central billing office and facility-based staff, and providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assisting with the Medical Assistance application process, ensuring residents receive eligible benefits.
  • Contributing to the development, revision, and implementation of accounts receivable policies and procedures, aiming for operational consistency across skilled nursing facilities.
  • Strategic Impact: Beyond daily tasks, you’ll participate in regular accounts receivable meetings, discussing collection strategies and problem accounts, and actively contributing to the overall financial health of our facility.
