Responsibilities

BUSINESS OFFICE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes and maintains financial files for all residents related to admission, billing, and collection of accounts receivable
  • Completes all necessary documentation and updates applicable system data related to cash receipts, account research and adjustments, transfer of depository cash, and daily census activity
  • Coordinates, performs and documents the collection of accounts receivable and past due accounts
  • Reviews payment policies and procedures with new admissions and their responsible parties
  • Prepares billing for routine and ancillary services to state agencies, Medicare, veterans and other billing agents
  • Performs month-end close procedures and prepares and submits all required reports
  • Provides supervision and assistance to business office team members
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards

ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees tours, admission screenings and initial inquiries, as well as training auxiliary team members that are asked or assigned to do tours
  • Oversees first impressions and admission coordinator team members, including scheduling and work flows and ensures that facility entrance/lobby meets company standards for presentation and appearance
  • Responds in a timely and professional manner to inquiry calls form hospital discharge planners, families and other referral sources when on-call. Facility Community Liaison who the admissions coordinator works with will be on-call most of the time to manage inquiry calls but admissions coordinator will serve as a backup and will cover when Community Liaison is not available,
  • Coordinate the admissions process timely with appropriate follow-up
  • Coordinate the inquiry process timely with appropriate follow-up
  • Assists to maintains and updates the Database of existing and potential referral sources
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Chief Nursing Officer to assure appropriate and efficient decisions about prospective admissions
  • Follow the established protocol for admission denials
  • Coordinates admissions and any special resident needs with all necessary internal departments to ensure smooth and professional admission
  • Process all appropriate admissions paperwork to ensure signatures, verification’s, authorizations, insurance information and all other necessary documents are obtained from the resident or responsible parties prior to admission
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Federal and State regulations and reimbursement
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of managed care and referral processes
  • Attends and participates in in-service training.
  • Coordinates insurance re-certification’s to include Recovery Care Department
