Why does the job exist?
Assisting other Business Operations Specialist-Advanced with the processing of Fleet crashes.
This will consist of opening the Fleet Packets upon receipt of the notification of the crash.
File an Automobile Loss Notice with Risk management if necessary.
Opening of work orders in Chevin.
Following up with officers, vendors and technicians throughout the process of repairing the vehicles.
Assisting other Business Operations Specialist with the processing of invoices.
Assisting Fleet Manager with the preparation and setup of annual auction.
How does it get done?
Processing invoices for payments
Creating and processing work orders for damaged vehicles
Requesting Purchase Orders for repair costs or deductible amounts
Filing of claims with Insurance Companies
Working closely with officers and civilians to ensure that vehicles are repaired in a timely manner
Provide support to other Administrators and Technicians
Assist with auction prep, such as compiling information for units being sold, and day of recording details sale information

Ideal Candidate
Officers and civilian employees of the New Mexico Department of Public Safety/ New Mexico State Police
Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and fingerprinting in accordance with all
terms and conditions of Federal and State Law, rules and regulations; and is conditional pending results.
Continued employment is contingent upon remaining felony free, per Section 5.12.1.1 of the Criminal Justice
Information Systems Security Policy.
In addition, the selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a current Defensive
Driving Certificate from the State of New Mexico; or pass and receive the Defensive Driving Certificate.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, stooping, bending, reaching and lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds may be required.
