Vistra has an immediate opening for an experienced Business Operations Analyst to provide comprehensive operations and analysis support to a Department of Defense client in multiple functional and programmatic areas. The Business Operations Analyst will track various office requirements, while supporting formal coordination of DoD correspondence and taskers along with recurring stakeholder meetings, with specific emphasis on policy and program analysis. This is currently a hybrid position, and candidates should reside within 50 miles of the Mark Center in Alexandria, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and monitor functional and programmatic requirements
  • Support development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and programs
  • Analyze policies and evaluate compliance with laws, regulations, and recommendations (e.g., Government Accountability Office [GAO], DoD Inspector General [DoDIG])
  • Manage recurring stakeholder meetings, including coordinating meeting invitations, creating meeting agendas, and drafting meeting facilitation slides
  • Coordinate correspondence and taskers; prepare DoD correspondence package components (e.g., memos, action memos)
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and executive communications
  • Draft clear and concise written products with high attention to detail (e.g., briefings, action memoranda)
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and shift focus to address changing priorities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of directly related experience working in the DoD, VA, or other Federal agency
  • Program analysis, policy, or strategic communications experience
  • Experience working in a military environment or with military personnel strongly preferred
  • Experiencing assessing compliance with laws, regulations, and/or recommendations (e.g., GAO, DoDIG)
  • Knowledge of the DoD and the Federal Government’s (e.g., Washington Headquarters Services) policy development process
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to critically think, examine complex issues, and identify/strategically communicate gaps and possible solutions
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
