Position Overview Lucy TV / ICAN Film Inc. is seeking a Business Operations & Development Manager to help keep our creative team on track while also building external partnerships. This role ensures projects are delivered on schedule, tasks are completed on time, and our company follows strong business practices. The right candidate will also assist in reviewing financials and projections, as well as outreach to businesses for licensing opportunities, contracts, and strategic growth. We are open to both part-time and full-time candidates, depending on experience and availability. Key Responsibilities
Operations & Task Management Assign, track, and monitor daily/weekly tasks across the team. Ensure deadlines are met and projects move forward smoothly. Maintain operational calendars and reporting systems.
Team Oversight & Accountability Keep staff and contractors accountable for tasks and schedules. Establish and enforce workplace standards and best practices. Support leadership in maintaining ethical operations. Financial & Administrative Support Review financial records, budgets, and projections. Assist in cost tracking, expense approvals, and reporting. Support company leadership in financial planning and accountability. Business Development & Outreach Research and connect with potential partners, distributors, and clients. Handle outreach for licensing, dubbing, and content contracts. Build and maintain relationships with external businesses. Negotiate terms under the guidance of company leadership. Qualifications Experience in operations, administration, or business development. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Comfortable with client outreach and professional negotiations. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Understanding of basic financial management. Media/entertainment industry experience is an asset but not required.
Reporting Structure Reports directly to: Directora Works closely with: Creative Coordinator, Editors, and Project Leads Position Details Job Type: Part-time or Full-time (to be discussed during hiring) Hourly Rate: $19/hr Full-Time Compensation Estimate: ~$760/week or ~$39,500/year Part-Time Compensation: Pro-rated depending on hours worked Location: Calgary, AB (on-site preferred) Start Date: Immediate / Negotiable
