Responsibilities As a business operations risk manager, you identify, assess, monitor, and reduce front-line operational risks from business activities, processes, systems, and external events. You collaborate closely with RIS senior management, leaders in India and the US, and other risk teams across PGS and Principal Financial Group. Together, you ensure the operational risk framework matches the organization's strategic goals and risk tolerance. This role offers an opportunity to join a highly daring team and develop a detailed risk management system. What You’ll Do Build and maintain procedures to ensure they align with company policies and standards and satisfy all applicable risk and compliance expectations. Conduct regular operational risk self-assessments and reviews to identify and evaluate the key operational risks and controls within the RIS organization. Track and communicate the operational risk indicators, incidents, losses, and action plans to senior management and the appropriate committees. Collaborating with Enterprise Risk, support the operational risk scenario analysis, RCSA’s, and stress testing to measure the potential impact and probability of acute events. Provide mentorship and support to the business units and other risk functions on the operational risk management issues and initiatives. Coordinate and take part in the operational risk audits, inspections, and regulatory examinations. Lead and advance the operational risk team and encourage a solid risk culture inside the organization. Have shown expertise in working across-geography inclusive and diverse teams which are skilled and future-ready in risk domain. Work with the BCP and Business teams in strengthening the BIA’s and revisit RTO & RPO periodically. Collaborate with the business and Enterprise Risk to proactively drive risk management and support business objectives. Advance and report risks to Enterprise Risk partners. Implement corrective actions in processes, controls, and/or strategic objectives to mitigate the impact risks. Skilled in leading global collaborators across geographies and navigate the global matrix organization through collaboration and influence. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to better serve business. Understand and embody Principal's code of conduct, core values, and leadership expectations. Use them to guide decisions, lead teams, collaborate, and mentor for strong succession. Qualifications Who You Are We prefer candidates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience. They must understand the framework for leading operational risks, methodologies, tools, and relevant regulatory standards and guidelines. Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the BFSI IT/ITeS sector, including at least 8 years in operational risk management, internal audit, or compliance within financial services. Skills That Will Help You Stand Out Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Should possess a general understanding of the US retirements industry, with certification in operational risk management being a plus.
