Description

Alberta Innovates is seeking a Business Partner accountable for supporting health investments managed by the Research Portfolio. This position is based in our Edmonton location.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in health sciences, economics, or commerce is required. Master’s degree in a health sciences, economics, or commerce preferred.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a research and innovation administration environment
  • Knowledge and experience in translating or commercializing health technologies (preferable)
  • Experience establishing and maintaining good working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders to support the development and delivery of initiatives.
  • Experience with program management.
  • Knowledge and experience with working with post-secondary institutions, health system, and government structures
  • Broad knowledge of the health and innovation environment in Alberta.
  • Demonstratable knowledge with regards to emerging health issues, trends, emerging technologies, and their application across the health continuum from prevention, diagnosis, intervention.

Responsibilities
  • Contributes to the management of program investments and all activities related to the lifecycle of investments. This includes monitoring and evaluating project investments in the Research portfolio, program design and implementation.
  • Contributes to portfolio and program evaluations, operationalizing reporting tools, and developing strategies for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, industry colleagues and government representatives towards achieving impact.
  • Stay abreast of industry and competitive trends, emerging technologies, major macro- and micro-economic forces.
  • Proactively identify and evaluate opportunities for business growth and innovation within the health sector
