A recent consent for the Waihi North Project, a new mine to be developed 6km north of the existing operation has provided a long term extension of mine life providing our 400 staff and contractors, and the people of Waihi, an assurance that we plan to be here for the long-term. Job Description The primary focus of the role is the delivery and ongoing improvement of the Risk Induction, which includes risk awareness, “OurSafe Behaviours”, and soon to include manual handling, health, fit testing, and related onboarding information. The role takes responsibility for the development, delivery, and maintenance of induction training packages in both face-to-face and online formats, to support effective onboarding of employees and contractors across Waihi Operations and the Waihi North Project, ensuring consistent delivery aligned with OceanaGold standards and New Zealand regulatory requirements. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Learning and Development Deliver face‑to‑face site induction training for employees and contractors. Support the ongoing development and delivery of a scalable induction program. Develop, review, and maintain induction training materials and packages in both face‑to‑face and online formats. Work with Training Coordinators to schedule induction sessions and coordinate training rooms and logistics. Maintain accurate training records to support onboarding, refresher requirements, and compliance reporting. Ensure induction training is delivered in line with OceanaGold standards and applicable New Zealand regulatory requirements. Support continuous improvement of induction content and delivery based on feedback, operational learnings, and changes to standards or requirements. Undertake other reasonable duties related to the delivery and support of site induction and onboarding activities, as required. Qualifications Tertiary qualification preferred. NZQA Workplace Trainer/Assessor qualification, or willingness to obtain. Full and current driver's license, with the ability to drive manual vehicles (mandatory). Experience Experience delivering face‑to‑face training or inductions to employees and contractors in an operational or site‑based environment. Demonstrated confidence facilitating training to mixed audiences, with the ability to communicate clearly and engage learners. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint to support training delivery and coordination. Experience using Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle, INX InTuition) to record training and support induction delivery. Exposure to e‑learning tools such as Articulate Rise and/or Storyline is desirable. Understanding of competency, compliance, and training requirements within a regulated or high‑risk environment. Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear presentation and training materials.
