Providence Mutual is seeking candidates for a Business Analyst position in its Warwick, RI office. The Business Analyst is engaged across our entire software development life cycle for the purpose of enhancing existing applications and creating new applications in support of business initiatives. The Business Analyst works directly with the user community to gather, filter and clarify business requirements for the development teams, often in the form of a requirements document. The Business Analyst provides support throughout the development process. During QA, the Business Analyst creates and executes test plans and in some cases, manages external testing. The Business Analyst is also responsible for reviewing rate packets and making necessary changes to implement rate, rule and form changes.
In addition to enhancing and creating new applications, the Business Analyst assists in some of the day to day operational activities. This includes running operational reports and providing ad hoc data to outside organizations as needed.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Mathematics or comparable work experience
• Knowledge of Property Casualty Company business and/or insurance designations desirable
• Experience with MS Office suite of tools
• Familiarity with Agile software development
• Strong analytical skills
• Handle a fast-paced environment, and work under pressure and meet deadlines
